Former Inter defender Daniele Adani believes that his former club are the side best poised to capture the Scudetto once again, despite not having the strongest playing squad.
Speaking to Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport in an interview published in today’s print edition, the 47-year-old shared his thoughts on Inter.
Adani argues that although Nerazzurri do not have the most talented group of players in Serie A, the team as a cohesive unit, is overall stronger than all others in the division based on the two matches already played.
“Based on what I saw in the first two days,” he went on, “Inzaghi has created a feeling within the players based on precise ideas.
“The Nerazzurri may not have the best squad, but they remain the favorites for the Scudetto.”
Inter have now taken six points from six in their opening two matches, against Genoa and Hellas Verona, and they look to have coped well with the departures of Achraf Hakimi and Romelu Lukaku as well as Antonio Conte over the summer.
Both performances, a 4-0 and a 3-1 win, respectively, showed the character of a Nerazzurri team who look disciplined and versatile enough to pick up points at a good pace across the season even without Hakimi and Lukaku.
Adani emphasized this, stating that “I had been critical with Inter after the sale of Lukaku and the arrival of Dzeko, but I like Correa and Dumfries moves.”
