Inter forward Alexis Sanchez began the final phase of his recovery from a calf injury today by training in part with the rest of the Nerazzurri squad.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, who report that the 32-year-old spent the day involved with the rest of the teammates as he looks to fully find fitness and make his return to the pitch, and that he could be ready to be called up for the Serie A match against Sampdoria on Sunday.

Sanchez has been dealing with a persistent calf injury which ruled him out of much of the summer in addition to the Nerazzurri’s first two fixtures of the Serie A season and the current international break as he has slowly recovered from the problem.

However, after a positive assessment yesterday and today’s beginning of training alongside teammates, there is a chance that he could be available for selection in the Sampdoria clash, and he will be assessed for this.
