What’s my boiling point? 0-3 against Roma at the San Siro-Stadium, I believe. Inter are no longer undefeated in the Serie A and maybe that’s not the end of the world, but in the manner of how we lost the title of “undefeated”, is absolutly repulsing. Let’s talk a little walk down the lane of Dumb Dribbles and Broken Dreams.
First of, why do we have players like Kovacic, Taider, Guarin and Alvarez? To controll the game and move the ball forward, yes. So why in Gods do I see Andrea Ranocchia and Juan Jesus performing those tasks? Tonight we all got to witness Inter’s defenders get hypnotized to believe that they are Cristiano Ronaldo, when all they do is look like Lucio. I don’t mean the good Lucio of 2010, I mean the totally disgraceful Lucio of 2012 who ran up the pitch like a moose and lost the ball, causing troubles for the entire team. Why?!
What makes me even more upset, is the fact that we make these mistakes in the first half and conceed three goals. The half-time whistle blows, then we walk back out for the second half and the same insane charges with the ball upfield continues. I’m concerned here. Didn’t Mazzarri take action as leader and coach enough to tell his defenders that the idea is not working out at all?
Many reasons lies behind this disqusiting evening at the Meazza. The defense is to take much of the blame. A headless tackle from Periera, which resolves in a penalty from Roma, even though it’s outside of the box. Totti plays at his full potential. The shot from Guarin should have been “Goal of the Year”, but strikes the inside of the post and out. Roma puts up an really ugly performance with a lot of fouls that should’ve resulted in a whole stack of red cards, not just Balzaretti. Awful match from the first minute to the last. Light at the end of the tunnel? Maybe a small one.
Before the penalty, Inter played rather well. Dominating the possession of the ball and creating many chances. But I don’t see a clear strategy in attack. All these high crosses towards Palacio, who is great but not the best player in the league when it comes to headers, seems out of fashion. Maybe we’re all just waiting for Milito to return, but at this point I’m not convinced. I just hope that this was rock bottom and that we’ll bounce back the next game with more hunger than ever.
about ranocchia, dont you all realize how “shaky” he is? not about the performance but real shaking on the field, he looks scared, just like the person he show on second half of last season when we lost samuel. rano doesnt have good confidence enough when he doesnt have someone to make sure that he is “safe” , on the field i supposed cambiasso should be the one who give him support to be cool. but it seems cambiasso alone isnt enough. rano needed one more man beside him on the back, either samuel or hugo to make him felt “safe” and by being that he can show his true potential.
kovacic playing bad? not really, we need to realize that serie-a is hard, especially for a “kid” like him, as a new kid on the block the burden is so heavy for him, hes not a magician who can turn the table so easily, he need to be more mature to be as good as pirlo or others. gave him time and dont put too much pressured and hope in his shoulder. just be patient. hope thohir will buy a good defender, an elite wing/full-back, and nainggolan, that’ll be good enough i supposed.
i have 2 conclusion; first is dont ever play with 3 back anymore if we didnt have Hugo on the field, better to go with 4 back, which Mazzari choosed to play with in the second half with 4-3-2-1 and 4-3-3 in the last.. it kinda work for me, but its too late when we conceded three goals and roma play like mou’s inter by putting as many player as possible in their backyard and waiting for the counter… second is, dont ever put pereira again in the game, he’s such a troll, play too much in front without enough skill to perform.. didnt he realize that taider must cover his position often in the back? indeed his defensive side is good, but pereira attack pattern are such a big NO. wallace is far worthy than him… bring wallace in put nagatomo in left flank for the best..
Periera is to blame for two goals and ranocchia for the first one….. really bad defending today…. And if we want to play in Europe we can’t risk as much as we did today! To bad that neither campangaro or Jonathan could participate would have helped a lot.
We need better defenders and to be honest Taider is not a starting player either so better players in those positions and Inter will comeback to the CL as before ….
we weren’t being outclassed by roma, we did it ourselves, we deployed two ticking time bombs in ranocchia and pereira & they both exploded in the same game, same half, i don’t see anything special from roma’s game apart from our inability to rob the ball from totti
Even Kovacic play simple pass, i can’t stand it. He suppose to dribble entire roma defence, yet he just play simple pass like Zanetti or Cambiasso..
Agree completely. I fear that the lack of a playmaker will be our undoing. Totally outclassed by Roma and I think to a large degree out managed as well.
