Inter took on Torino at the Stadio Olimpico tonight. Inter, hungry for revenge after losing against Roma. Inter, without key players like Ricky Alvarez and Hugo Campagnaro, who faced a Torino missing a lot of players as well. It all ended 3-3. We should’ve won. Despite all the circumstances, we we’re worthy of three points. A draw… is a robbery.
Total chaos in the defensive line during the first half. As soon as Hugo Campagnaro is missing, the rest of the defense falls apart in the lack of a proper commander on the field. It’s like cutting out Maximus out of the “Gladiator”-movie. Our leader was nowhere to be found. Torino’s strikers and midfielders outplayed us from the first minute and to get all our remaining moral broken into a million little pieces after the situation where Handanovic gets stomped in the face and is punished with a red card and a penalty. What’s with the referees this evening? The linesmen, in particular, were rather selective in their waving with the flag. Every decision fell in the favor of Torino. Un-flubbing-believable. So when head-referee Doveri does his best to sever the head of the game as soon as possible, out comes Juan Pablo Carrizo. He saves the penalty, only to throw away the title of “hero”, in the final minute when the freekick from Bellomo just falls in behind him, a ball that every goalkeeper in this league, should take care of without trouble, but no.
In the second half, the defense really shapes up. Inter did a real number and performed well, in my opinion. Not handsome and not good, but they showed that you could win football matches, hardly playing football. Three tiny situations of high-class that did the work for Inter. The bicycle-kick from Guarin, then maybe a little slip-up from Padelli in the Torino-goal where Palacio yawns and heads the ball into the back of the net. Then a fantastic run from Belfodil followed by a perfect cross to Palacio who just flicks the ball in. We did put in such an effort in the second half, mainly Fredy Guarin and Rodrigo Palacio who put heart and soul into every step on that pitch. We should’ve won today. That’s what’s burning inside me, my friends. We should’ve won today.
The penalty actually a 50-50 situation, so its very easy to say that the ref is a nut. But the biggest dissapointment for me is called “Ranocchia” !!! He played so dumb to guard in front of Handanovic that causing the penalty.
Why does Mazzari put him on the pitch? Samuel can be on his place rather than sitting on the bench.. Or if the coach insists that Rano must play, he should bring Samuel too in the place of JJ/Rolando, that way he can feel safe around Samuel, had a grip to hold, and do less mistake.
And torino second goal? Yes indeed its Rolando’s mistake, but another person is behind it too, who is it? Yes you are right, its Ranocchia, againn!! His weak pressing against the enemy is helping the cross to go perfectly to farnerud to score. Watch the replay carefully and you’ll know what i meant!!
Oh man, i wish Mazzari quickly realize that playing Ranocchia without Hugo or Samuel beside him is a big mistake. Its all about character with him, Ranocchia is a great player in term of skill, but for the character he’s a pussy who depends too much backup from others.
Skills can be upgraded, but character? Its the hardest thing to be change for, that’s why i really don’t like Ranocchia as a player, still i wish only the best for him. Forza #INTER !!!
nice article. but i i think it’s a bit harsh to give 2 stars out of 5 for last night performance. we try as best as we can after being robbed by that stupid referee. the team has shown strong character and mentality to fight back. sometimes i think we deserve 3 points if it wasnt for carrizo’s error,but again, he saves that penalty so i wont expect that much from unfair decision by the ref.
i love how mazzari introduced belfodhil and he pays the trust with sudden and significant impact.
IMO, mazzori may have to consider rotating our 3 starters midfielders (guarin,cambiasso,or taider) to give kovacic a starting spot.
I feel sorry for Kovacic, why was he substituted? Mazzari should have taken Taider who was a disaster this evening!……. He is clearly not good enough at this moment and should not be a starter…..he keept giving the ball away and looks really clumsy when he moves…..
And don’t get me started on the referees……what a joke…….how can he destroy the game after 5 min? No one would hang him if he didn’t blow for a penalty in that situation because Handanovic should get the advantage in his area and his was on the ball first and Cerci tripped on him…..
AND YES WE SHOULD GET CERCI !!!! He is a great winger

Just one question, WAS THAT A REALY PENALTY? Can some one please explain how that was a penalty?
based on rules apparently, there was no defenders behind the ball which makes him the last man, handanovic, one on one, commits the foul (it was unintentional!) referee blows whistle and has to show the red, which is total cra—-
