In a new feature we’ll give you the ultimate post match experience after every Nerazzurri game. So grab a coffee, sit back and enjoy the best bits of Inter 4 Hellas Verona 2.

Tale of the tape……

Courtesy of the statistics site  Whoscored.com – here are the numbers that mattered for Saturday nights game.

The Good….

Ricky Alvarez lead Inter with 85 touches of the ball and a pass accuracy % of 92. Equally impressive were Esteban Cambiasso and Jonathan who both completed 94% of their passes touching the ball on 69 and 75 occasions respectively.

Even more impressive from Inter’s captain fantastic Cambiasso were the NINE accurate long balls he completed whilst delivering four key passes. This on top of scoring the Nerazzurri’s third goal capped a fine night for the Argentinian international.

Fredy Guarin was a constant menace to Hellas (and the crowd) he accounted for seven of Inter’s shots, managing to keep three of those on target. The Colombian international also drove Inter forward with his Eight completed dribbles.

Andrea Ranocchia made six effective clearances during the 90 minutes.

The Bad….

Fredy Guarin once again displayed his ‘Jekyll and Hyde’ characteristics with an abysmal pass completion rate of just 79%.

Despite having 21 shots at goal, Inter were only able to keep eight of those on target.

Despite his relatively short time on the pitch Saphir Taider was dispossessed more than any other Inter player, a total of three times.

The Ugly…..

Ishak Belfodil’s red card was for an incident following the final whistle, boss Walter Mazzarri was less than impressed and criticised the players ‘maturity’.

What the gaffer had to say….

Walter Mazzarri gave a post-match interview with Sky Italia: “We got off to a superb start, got into our stride and even started trying things that were more to please the crowd than find a route to goal, and that’s not something we should be doing. Then we made a few mistakes that could have been avoided and we let Verona back into the game. We’re a young team with lots of lads who aren’t used to having the responsibility of playing as starters and having to win games”.

Inter’s central defender Rolando spoke exclusively to us…..

“It was a good game, we gave a good performance and we played very well. The most important thing was that we won, which was what we set out to do after having conceded two goals which is something we will have to work on. However the most important thing was that we were able to win”.

Around the Meazza……

Two main stories from the stands during and before this game. A wonderful reception for president Massimo Moratti who this week agreed to sell 70% of his shares in Inter. A banner read ‘Thank you president for everything’ as the whole ground applauded. The Curva Nord once again voiced their disapproval towards the FIGC and their regulations. Inter’s most vocal supporters were silent for the first 35 minutes of this contest displaying the following messages.
