Lautaro Martinez looks set to start the Derby della Madonnina on Saturday evening instead of Alexis Sanchez, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media today.
As has been reported by Sky Sport in Italy, via FCInternews, the Argentine forward is expected to be given the nod by Simone Inzaghi to start the match alongside Bosnian forward Edin Dzeko.
The good recent form shown by Alexis Sanchez for both Inter and Chile led many to wonder if he would start the match alongside Edin Dzeko instead but he will not be able to return to Milan until very late on Thursday night.
That means that Lautaro Martinez will have had more time training with the squad and getting set for the big match on Saturday evening.
Both South American players were in form for their country with both scoring twice in vital 2022 Qatar World Cup qualifying matches during the past week.
