Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni has fully recovered from his ankle injury and will start against Liverpool in the Champions League tomorrow.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the 22-year-old’s recovery has progressed sufficiently to be available to start against the Reds.

Bastoni picked up an ankle injury in the Nerazzurri’s Coppa Italia clash with Roma last week, but he has been working to get back to fitness in time for tomorrow’s massive round of sixteen first leg match.

The defender has been working on the pitch and the signs have been positive, as has largely recovered and any pain should be manageable, so he will almost certainly start tomorrow.

Meanwhile, the Gazzetta also report that with Bastoni fit, it cannot be ruled out that Danilo D’Ambrosio could take the place of out-of-form Stefan de Vrij in Inter’s starting eleven with Simone Inzaghi potentially reshuffling his back three.
