After a long winded back and forth between club and country, it’s now official as confirmed by the football federation of Argentina: “On Monday afternoon the defender Hugo Campagnaro was excluded from the squad due to a hamstring injury, Otamendi will take his place”. Sense seems to have prevailed and Campagnaro will remain in Milano to continue his recovery.
