Mazzarri spoke to Sky after the game, here are his words.
“I think that from the moment that the team felt the responsibility to always win, this has happened. Today I can’t explain why we started out tense, and when the games start with a disadvantage in Italy it is difficult for everyone. As soon as we go ahead though we go down, we aren’t alert and we concede immediately. We need to be more attentive, now we keep losing points like this. If it had been an unfortunate game like against Sampdoria we could’ve lost this one. There are things to reflect upon, at least we have continuity; in some moments also not losing is important for a team with young players who aren’t used to some levels and to be starters.”
These were Walter Mazzarri’s first thoughts after the game. He then went on discussing the defense and the amount of goals conceded.
“Too many goals conceded? In the beginning there was the task of removing past legacies and we did some incredible stuff, above expectations. And it is there that we started to feel the responsibility to always win. In the second half until we were up at 3-2 we played well, not thinking at anything and we did well. And then we fell in the same traps, committing the same mistakes.”
Regarding the possible penalty.
“For me it was a clear one, there is a push and it is a penalty. But what should I say? We hope that things will go our way in the future, but it is not a problem. You can’t focus on an episode even if these change the games. It is what it is. He also knees him and gives him a push. Obviously we aren’t lucky with the episodes..”
Regarding the tactics;

Why play Belfodil as a winger?
