Borussia Dortmund defender Manuel Akanji is hoping to make the move to Inter this summer, and could extend his contract with the German club in order to facilitate a loan move.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Corriere della Sera, who report that the 26-year-old would be receptive to a move to the Nerazzurri and is considering ways that the transfer could happen.

Inter are admirers of Akanji who they see as having the right profile to complete their defensive options ahead of the upcoming season, although it remains to be seen whether they would be able to get a deal done with Dortmund that is financially feasible even though his contract situation could make him a bargain.

The Swiss international could push for the move, however, and if the Schwarzgelben decide to give him his desired move it could be by extending his contract so that they can loan him to Inter for the season.
