Inter President Steven Zhang has been convinced that keeping Milan Skriniar and offering him a contract extension is the right course of action by his coach Simone Inzaghi.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri President believes that keeping the Slovakian is the right decision based on what he has discussed with Inzaghi as well as the club directors.

Inzaghi has never made it any secret that he has not wanted to see Skriniar sold, as he had been tentatively willing to see the 27-year-old leave if he were to be replaced by Bremer, but once that move fell through the coach felt that there would be no adequate replacement.

This did not immediately mean that the Slovakian was unconditionally taken off of the market, with Zhang having the final say on any offers for him, but the President has been listening to his coach throughout the process.

Inzaghi’s arguments about how keeping Skriniar is vital on a sporting level have convinced the President, who has also been present in training sessions where he has witnessed the Slovakian’s importance to the team, and for this reason he has decided that there will be no sale before the summer transfer window closes.
