Inter are set to begin contract extension talks with Milan Skriniar, and are optimistic heading into them.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri are set to hold the first meeting with the 27-year-old and his representatives today.

Inter have been holding off on beginning the contract talks with Skriniar until after they’d secured qualification for the Champions League knockout rounds.

Now, with that achieved, the club aren’t set to waste any time in the contract talks.

The talks will begin today, and the Slovakian is set to be offered a deal worth around €6.5 million net per season.

The mood within the club is an optimistic one as far as the prospect of agreeing an extension with the 27-year-old.

Given that Skriniar’s current contract is set to run out at the end of June 2023, finding an agreement on a new deal is a priority for the Nerazzurri.
