Inter CEO Beppe Marotta is optimistic that Milan Skriniar will agree to extend his contract due to the continued contacts with the defender and his representatives.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri CEO expressed confidence that an agreement can be found based on the player’s expressed desire.

Inter held their first real round of talks with Skriniar and his representatives last week where they began negotiations over a possible contract extension.

However, according to the Gazzetta, the talks did not end there, as there have been telephone contacts in the ensuing days.

In these contacts, the Slovakian has expressed a desire to stay at Inter and find an agreement on a new deal.

It is for this reason that Marotta was in a confident mode when he was asked about Skriniar’s situation yesterday, where the CEO said that he feels that an agreement can be found by November 13.

According to the Gazzetta, the CEO genuinely believes that because the 27-year-old wants to stay at Inter, a new contract can be agreed soon despite the potentially superior offer on the horizon from Paris Saint-Germain.
