Former Juventus and Torino midfielder Ivano Bonetti feels that the return of some important players to Inter’s squad could allow them to get back into the Serie A title race soon.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster 1 Football Club, via FCInterNews, the former midfielder noted the importance of key players being available to the Nerazzurri’s hopes of catching up with league leaders Napoli.

Inter have been made to do without Romelu Lukaku for the bulk of the season so far through injury.

Meanwhile, midfielder Marcelo Brozovic was out for most of the matches after the September international break due to a thigh injury that he had picked up.

The Nerazzurri managed to cope well enough in the absence of these two key players.

However, catching up to Napoli at the top of the table will likely require an improvement in form considering the pace set by the league leaders, and Bonetti feel that the returning players could be the ones to provide it.

“Inter are getting some key players back, and they’re ready to push back in the Serie A title race,” he said.
