Atalanta defender Giorgio Scalvini and Chelsea defender Kalidou Koulibaly would be Inter’s two main targets to replace Milan Skriniar in the event that he does not extend his current contract.

This according to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, via TuttoMercatoWeb, who name the pair as possible targets for the Nerazzurri to replace Skriniar should he leave in the summer.

If Skriniar is to decline Inter’s contract extension offer, then the Nerazzurri will be in search of a defender with adequate quality to replace the Slovakian.

Scalvini is a player at one end of the experience spectrum, still only nineteen years of age.

The Atalanta defender is considered to be both ready for the present based on his performances this season, and a player with significant potential for growth.

At the other end of the experience spectrum would be former Napoli defender Koulibaly.

The 31-year-old has not settled in well at Chelsea, but has certainly proven his quality in Serie A over several seasons.
