Inter wingback Federico Dimarco’s excellent season has put him on the radar of Atletico Madrid, but the Nerazzurri have no intention of selling him.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Corriere dello Sport, the Italian international has suitors in the Premier League as well as from Atletico, but Inter are determined to hold on to him and will push to sell fellow wingback Denzel Dumfries instead.

The 25-year-old is contracted until 2026 and so the Nerazzurri are hopeful that they can retain him and maximise his potential, but there is also a need to raise €60 million this summer.

It was hoped that the sale of Dumfries would plug this gap, particularly after he starred at the World Cup last year for the Netherlands, but he is no longer a starter under Simone Inzaghi and it is feared that his value is dropping.

Despite this, Inter will not lower their €50m asking price just yet and remain optimistic that the former PSV Eindhoven player will depart for this figure.

However, should they fail to receive a suitable offer for Dumfries that will go someway towards filling the €60m hole in the club’s coffers, Inter may instead have to change their plans and consider offers for Dimarco.
