Inter midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu is poised to sign a new contract with the club that would run until the summer of 2026, and an announcement is thought to be imminent.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Corriere dello Sport, the 29-year-old is ready to commit his future to the Nerazzurri and he could reach an agreement on a new deal before the Champions League match against Porto on 14 March.

Calhanoglu has 18 months remaining on his existing deal and it is suggested that he only has eyes for Inter, with the Turkey international keen to remain at the club beyond next summer.

He is set to earn €6 million per season, plus bonuses, and there are only some minor details missing before he signs the new agreement.

Meanwhile, Calhanoglu’s impressive form this season could see Inter sacrifice Marcelo Brozovic and cash in on him at the end of the season, with the Turkish star slotting into his deep-lying midfield role with ease.

Calhanoglu joined Inter from AC Milan as a free agent in 2021 and has scored 11 goals in 77 appearances for the Nerazzurri.
