Inter Milan are more financially sustainable than Juventus despite the lack of support from their owners Suning.

The two Serie A giants will lock horns at the Allianz Stadium on Sunday in what will be a direct Scudetto showdown.

The Nerazzurri are currently leading the standings while the Bianconeri sit second, just two points behind.

But aside from the sporting duel, La Gazzetta dello Sport (via FcInterNews) took a closer look at the clubs’ balance sheets.

According to the two sides’ financial statements, they’re both gradually recovering and trying to limit their losses in the post-Covid era.

In the last three financial years, Inter have managed to cut the deficit from -246 million euros to -140M and most recently -85 million.

On the other hand, Juventus limited their losses from -237 to -90 million euros.

Nevertheless, the Nerazzurri are still running the more financially sustainable project. As the source explains, Inter will benefit from capital gains, new sponsors and various savings.

On the contrary, missing out on European competitions will cost Juventus circa 90 million euros.

On another note, the report reveals that Juve’s squad cost the club’s coffers 401 million euros. This is significantly higher than the Inter squad which cost 287 million.

The Beneamata have also managed to narrow the gap in revenues with their arch-rivals. Inter earned 386 million last season, compared to Juve’s 437M.

Inter Milan Have A More Financially Sustainable Project Than Juventus Despite Lack Of Backing From Suning

However, the source notes that Juventus were able to rely on their owners who invested 700 million euros in capital increase over the past years.

In contrast, Inter’s owners Suning never backed the club financially, as the report notes.

The Chinese company’s future at the club largely depends on the Oaktree loan with the deadline date set in May 2024.

Suning will have to repay the loan or refinance it. Otherwise, they could lose their grasp on the club.
