Defender Yann Bisseck is already well worth the €7 million price tag that Inter Milan paid for him during the summer transfer window.

This is the view in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

Inter’s move for Bisseck was always clearly an investment for the future as much as anything else.

The Nerazzurri ended up signing Benjamin Pavard as their designated successor to Milan Skriniar in defense. The 27-year-old brought with him plenty of experience.

On the other hand, the 23-year-old Bisseck arrived as far from the finished article.

There were certainly signs of the German’s quality.

Bisseck had already captained his national team’s Under-21 side.

And his performances for Danish side Aarhus were enough to convince Inter to make their move for him.

Yann Bisseck Proving To Be Worth His Price Tag For Inter

The €7 million transfer fee that Inter forked over to sign Aarhus always looked reasonable enough considering Bisseck’s undeniable talent and potential.

But the question marks around how the German would adapt playing at a higher level meant that there was also a clear element of risk for the Nerazzurri.

The fact that Bisseck barely featured in the first few months of the campaign underlined this.

As long as the 23-year-old was not playing it was hard to really judge what level he would be at.

A couple Champions League starts gave mixed evidence. There was certainly quality on show, but also an element of rawness.

But against Udinese on Saturday, Bisseck looked like a player who had made plenty of Serie A experiences – not like a player who was making his first ever start in the competition.

The German dispelled doubts that he could make good on his talent.

Physically, technically, and crucially, in terms of composure, Bisseck played his part in a dominant Nerazzurri performance.

Thusly, the Gazzetta argue, the 23-year-old is worth around €10-15 million already.

Whether or not Bisseck ever rises to the level of a regular starter for Inter, the Nerazzurri are not likely to have to take a loss if they ever decide to sell him.
