Inter Milan have put their contract offer on the table and are now waiting for a response from Piotr Zielinski.

The Napoli star is currently running on an expiring contract. Club president Aurelio De Laurentiis hinted that the Pole might prefer a move to Northern Italy over signing a contract renewal.

The 29-year-old has been plying his trade at the Maradona Stadium since 2016, but the Nerazzurri are looking to prise him away in the summer.

According to Tuttosport via FcInterNews, Inter Milan have offered Zielinski a four-year contract that would see him earn 4.5 million euros per season.

The Turin-based newspaper believes the Beneamata management is now waiting for the player’s response.

As the source explains, Inter view the Poland international as someone who can take the torch from Henrikh Mkhitaryan in the future.

The Armenian veteran remains a key component in Simone Inzahgi’s starting formation. However, he will soon celebrate his 35th birthday.

Inter Milan Await The Response Of Piotr Zielinski On Contract Offer

So while the Nerazzurri are looking to maintain Mkhitaryan’s services by offering him a new contract, the arrival of Zielinski would provide reassurances for the future.

The former Man Utd, Arsenal and AS Roma midfielder joined Inter in the summer of 2022 on a free transfer.

His contract contract is only valid until the end of the season. Nevertheless, Inter Milan and Mkhitaryan have already an agreement in place over a renewal.

Some sources expect the Serie A leaders to announce the contract extension in the next few days.
