Inter Milan could be in for a blazing month of October based on the stellar record of coach Simone Inzaghi in the month.

Today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, note that Lazio and Inter have taken an average of 2.21 points during the month under Inzaghi.

Inter have not had a disastrous start to the season by any means. But it has been a bit of a slow one.

The Nerazzurri have already drawn two matches that they probably would have expected to win, away to Monza and Genoa.

And in the derby against AC Milan, a lack of physicality was on full display from Inter.

The Rossoneri overran Inter in midfield and deservedly won 2-1, the first derby they’d won in two years.

But in Inter’s last couple matches they’ve bounced back from that setback.

Inter beat Udinese 3-2 in Serie A last weekend. And then during the week, the Nerazzurri cruised to a 4-0 victory over Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League.

Inter Could Be In For A Blazing Month Of October Under Simone Inzaghi

And the feeling that Inter’s form, may not be a coincidence.

Getting the team at their sharpest physically, technically, and tactically is by design for Nerazzurri coach Inzaghi.

The start of the season is never easy. Particularly with many players returning late to training, meaning that there were fitness issues early on.

In August and September, there was a sense that Inter were shaking off the cobwebs.

But October tends to be when the matches really start to pile up.

And Nerazzurri coach Inzaghi knows how to respond.

The coach’s methods in training are geared to make this the month when the team really come out of their shell and start to play the kind of football they’ll aim for over the rest of the season.

And this has had results over Inzaghi’s coaching career.

Since 2016, Lazio and Inter have picked up an average of 2.21 points during the month of October.

Now, Inzaghi could be eyeing up this evening’s match against Torino as the start of another stellar October.
