PSG wingback Achraf Hakimi feels that his time at Inter Milan in the 2020-21 season “consolidated” him among Europe’s elite.

The 25-year-old gave his thoughts on his time at the Nerazzurri in an interview with GQ Italia, via FCInterNews.

Hakimi is now a very familiar name at the top of European football.

The Moroccan has won several trophies over the course of his career.

And Hakimi was also a key player for his national team as they reached the semifinal of the World Cup in 2022.

But Hakimi’s current position is the result of a lot of growth.

And a good deal of that came at Inter.

Hakimi only spent one single season with the Nerazzurri. He joined from Real Madrid in the summer of 2020, arriving from Real Madrid after impressing on loan at Borussia Dortmund.

PSG Wingback Achraf Hakimi: “Time At Inter Consolidated Me Among Europe’s Elite”

It was certainly an eventful season for Hakimi at Inter, though.

The Moroccan quickly established himself as a key player for the Nerazzurri under Antonio Conte.

Hakimi provided regular goals and assists from the right flank for Inter. He seemed tailor-made for the attacking wingback role under Conte.

The Moroccan’s contributions were essential to Inter winning the Serie A title for the first time in eleven years in the 2020-21 season.

But with Inter in a financial crisis at that time, they sold Hakimi for a massive fee to Paris Saint-Germain in 2021. Just one year after first bringing him in.

Hakimi recalled, “Inter meant consolidating me among the elite.”

“It took my name to the highest level possible,” the 25-year-old continued. “And also made me a champions of Italy.”

“And then Paris was magnificent!” Hakimi said of his switch to PSG in 2021.

“I find myself in one of the best moments of my career,” Hakimi said. “In the French capital I’m continuing to consolidate the experience I had with the Nerazzurri half of Milan.”
