Veteran defender Matteo Darmian will spend one more season at Inter Milan despite earlier doubts surrounding his future.
According to FCInterNews, the 35-year-old will stay at San Siro until the expiry of his contract next summer.
Matteo Darmian joined Inter from Parma in 2020.
Though he initially signed on a season-long loan, the Nerazzurri made his transfer permanent the following summer.
Darmian has since been a permanent first-team fixture under two different managers.

In addition to his long-serving loyalty, Darmian is among the most experienced players in the squad.
Furthermore, he even challenged Denzel Dumfries for a starting berth until the start of last season.
However, the Dutchman had a campaign of his life, significantly reducing Darmian’s playing time.
Despite Dumfries’ rise to prominence, the ex-AC Milan defender was still a useful cog in Simone Inzaghi’s machine.
Therefore, he will remain at Inter for one more season, which will be his sixth consecutive year at Giuseppe Meazza.
While there’s been no confirmation yet, Francesco Acerbi should also remain with the Nerazzurri for 2025/26.

The love for 35 yrs and above players in Italy these days is mind baffling, watching ac Milan fans celebrating the arrival of Luca modric is just one of the reminders that the Italian league is no longer the league that attracted most of us in the 90s and 2000s, it’s slowly becoming the new Saudi league of Europe where players end their careers.
As i’ve said earlier sell Darmian somewhere, and one of Acerbi/de Vrij. Bring Tomiyasu who is free (+ agent fees), can cover all defence positions, can play as backup to Dumfries considering we don’t have backup right back, and from whom we can still profit with later sale. And Leoni instead of Bisseck/Pavard, whoever we can sell of them for big bucks (Bisseck prone to mistakes currently and Pavard prone to injuries).
it’s obvious that the management never wants to sell or release darmian. although he’s no longer good backup, he has low wage and no value in the market, so they will still keep him for years. if inter is really ambitious of getting a high profile CB, they need to sell de vrij instead of acerbi. they could let pavard stay for another year cause he could play as RB. selling both de vrij and pavard would leave us vulnerable cause I don’t think inter will spend more money for 2 CBs, unless the other one is panic buying
Considering that Chivu will probably also play sometimes with 4 in back, we don’t need that many centrebacks, better to put a young one as 6th choice. Right side Dumfries (Tomiyasu- in case of sale we could get 15-20 mil and lowering squad age), Left Dimarco and Augusto on occasion. Centrebacks Pavard, Bisseck, Bastoni, de Vrij/Acerbi and Tomiyasu and Augusto who can cover left and right centralbacks. Leoni as replacement for Pavard/Bisseck if the board really wants to invest in youth and push some youngster on occasion against weaker teams, someone from Primavera or give Palacios some time
Really no negative, he’ll be there just incase we have anyone injured. he’s still reliable

If i still see them at inter next season i wont watch any inter matches.
This just doesn’t happen at any other club…. Yes, they have been great servants, and I thank them for what they’ve done, but I’d also like to remember them fondly, rather than just getting pissed off at the site of them playing against players 10 years younger!! The fact that we’ll be going into next season with Darmian, Acerbi and Miki as first team players is just mind boggling!! And people wonder why Serie A struggles to keep up with other leagues….
