Atalanta are set to sign wingback Nicola Zalewski from Inter Milan in a deal worth €17 million.
This according to Italian outlet Gazzetta.it. They report that the clubs are on the verge of an agreement, whilst Ademola Lookman has not figured into the talks at all.
In the last day or so, Atalanta have taken an interest in Inter wingback Nicola Zalewski.
The Bergamo club are keen to make a signing for the left flank before the end of the transfer window.
And Zalewski has emerged as a potential candidate for the position after Fiorentina rebuffed La Dea’s interest in bringing Robin Gosens back to the club.

According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, the negotiations between Inter and Atalanta for Zalewski have advanced quickly.
The clubs have been in active talks today. And they are already getting close to an agreement for the Polish international.
Inter only just signed Zalewski permanently this summer after he’d been on loan over the second half of last season. They paid Roma a fee of €6.5 million.
However, Inter are already set to turn a significant profit, reports the Gazzetta. They anticipate that the figure that the clubs have agreed a deal worth around €17 million.
The Pole will join a club where he expects to receive more playing time than he would have at Inter.
Meanwhile, Inter’s interest in Ademola Lookman has not figured into the talks for Zalewski at all.
Off topic, but with the squad we have right now am I the only one that would like to see Bastoni tried out more often at LB and Augusto in his position potentially as a starting pair?
So give Atlanta a win to ease how they stripped their team to their fans … basically to save face and we get Lookman in return for just a tiny bitty more.

Zalewski bought for €17 million is €5 million more than his value according to transfermarkt. That over-payment can be added to Inter’s last offer for Lookman to get that deal over the line.
Atalanta saves face by saying they got their asking price for Lookman. Whatever. Lookman’s skill-set seems to be essential to Inter’s re-configuration.

Well, I don’t know how long you’ve been an Inter fan. I remember when Inter bought Bastoni. We got him from Atlanta when he was 18 years old for 31000 million. A lot of inter fans don’t grasp what’s going on in this transfer market. Because we sometimes don’t listen to Marotta’s interviews. Marotta already said it all before. I believe Inter’s management is fully committed to the u23 team. because they believe they will be able to move some players from u23 for next season, which is why we did not spend too much in the transfer market. I believe Chivu begged for Lookman. For those who are complaining about Nicola Zalewski being sold, keep in mind that he is a midfielder, and we are already strong in that position. So please, Inter will not invest heavily this season. If the fee is correct, inter has just made 10 mil profit. According to what Chivu is trying to do, Zalewski is a midfielder and not a defender.
