Inter Milan have reportedly told Atalanta that they are done trying to sign forward Ademola Lookman.
This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews. They report that the Nerazzurri no longer consider the attack a priority, and are focusing on midfield.
Inter have been chasing Ademola Lookman for almost five weeks now.
The transfer saga between the Nerazzurri, the Nigerian international, and Atalanta has become the transfer soap opera of the summer in Serie A.
Inter Have made two offers for Lookman. First they bid €40 million. Then, they increased their offer to €45 million including add-ons.
And in the meantime, Lookman has tried to force Atalanta’s hand on a move.
The 27-year-old has publicly demanded a transfer. He has also been no-showing training for Atalanta since the start of August.
Inter Milan Pull Out Of Race To Sign Ademola Lookman From Atalanta

According to Sky Sport Italia, however, Inter are finally bringing an end to this transfer saga.
It has now been weeks without any progress to sign Lookman.
And the Nerazzurri feel that they have more pressing needs than signing a big name forward.
Therefore, reports Sky, Inter will shift their focus to trying to bring in a midfielder who provides balance to the team.
Napoli will get him after Inter did much of the heavy lifting and they’ll probably pay less that 40 millions. Lookman is a type of player if you’re a top team with ambition you take him if an opportunity comes that’s what top team tend to do in their league like Bayern, Man City and others. Sometimes just to stop others rivals to take him but now Inter have pulled out after making a mockery out of everyone and pave the way to a rival that barely won the league by simply being out of every competition. Inter are not a midtable team that starts the season hoping to develop new talents but rather compete at the highest level. But having a yes man as a coach and management that’s not interested in spending means the banter era will be coming way sooner
This management team needs to start being made accountable!!!
What a waste of a summer!!!
How we cannot attract players is beyond belief, surely we would be top of players lists considering how close we have been to European titles and a competing domestically every year.
Instead we are trying to bring in 4th choice losers who have scored 1-2 goals in an entire season and will NEVER make our starting lineup. For stupid money
This has been the most embarrassing summer ever, we couldn’t even get a manager from como ffs
Something needs to change ASAP!!
Otherwise we are heading for mediocrity again with a team full of asllani, bisseck, Bonny & Kone
W T A F
Inter f**k!…. what is this!
Bonny and
Francesco
Esposito
That’s a nice young duo, hopefully we get some strong midfield players and some defenders now that Lookman is out of the picture.
We already completed in forward. Lautaro, Thuram, Pio, Bonny, and Spinanacea U23. No need for another player.
Forwards are looking good. Defense is a priority with a couple of additional midfielders.
Agreed.
this has been a generational loss
GUYS WE SIGNED LOOKMAN 45MIL!!!!!!!!!!!
Shut up
lol
so you can buy Luis henrique for 50m but can not pay 50m for lookman, No wonder we lost all the trophy last year, because bonny and esposito score goals during pre-season saeson matches you think, you can rely on them, this is same mistake we made last season by relying on teremi, amautovic and correa and we ended up trophieless.
and now we panic buy a gagliadini successor… while bilan and merdentus and even Napoli have grown strength to strength.
Sure they did. 39 year old Modric and 34 injury prone De Bruyne are the headlights.
Milan (mostly) and Napoli had to sell fist team players.
Sure, the other trams made some good transfers..but the game is not over yet. We all know we still have to wait till last hours of the mercato, nothing new here
This is bad news.
Inter management are clowns to think they can rely on Pio and Bonny to carry the weight. Typical Inter always taking the easy way out and spending money stupid. Its time for new management . Marotta has served his time its time for someone with new ideas. The market have been a disaster.
lets be honest. what Atalanta did is woeful. we would be dumb if we signed him for 55 mil while they would aceept 40 from outside Italy. we missed out on a quality player? yes. but Atalanta lost his value. I promise you hes leaving January for less than 35 mil. and if he doesnt play hes a burnt card. Good on inter for standing their grounds. bad fot waiting too long
So, so true. Thumbs up, brother! Totally agree!
Atalanta have an unruly player and Inter can still get him next year. Missing out on him is not a big deal.
Lookman=Inters Mercato killer.
disasterous market campaign
Yes. Looks like it’s the end of the world, no transfers and we lost our best players too
Atalanta just want to frustrate this young man.
is well .
Now they pull out, hahahaha what a bunch of clowns.
waste of 5 weeks…
