Inter Milan are not finished making signings after agreeing a deal for Lens midfielder Andy Diouf, and will still sign a defender.
This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews. They report that the Nerazzurri could invest €20-25 million in a player to reinforce their backline.
Inter Milan are reportedly on the verge of signing midfielder Andy Diouf from Lens.
The 22-year-old will sign on a five-year deal. Inter will reportedly pay Lens a fee of around €20 million plus €5 million in add-ons.
Therefore, inter have found their big midfielder reinforcement for the summer, having already also signed Petar Sucic from Dinamo Zagreb.
Inter Not Finished With Andy Diouf – Set To Sign A Defender

According to Sky Sport Italia, however, Diouf will not be the last signing that Inter make this summer transfer window.
There is still more than a week left to go in the transfer window.
And Sky note that Inter had already been ready to invest €40-45 million in a deal for either Ademola Lookman or Manu Kone.
Therefore, of that budget, Inter have only invested around half in signing Diouf.
As such, Sky report, Inter still have enough cash to make one more notable signing before the transfer window slams shut.
The broadcaster report that the Nerazzurri’s priority will be to sign a defender.
We’ve held on to a core group of players who are either over 30 or frequently dealing with injuries, while our new signings consist mostly of unproven and largely unknown names. The one potential game-changer we could have secured was Lookman—but we missed out on that too. I wish I was wrong but as it stands, there’s little to be optimistic about heading into the new season.
babis from brighton for 18 mil
This will be a rollercoaster of a season lol. I’m excited to see inter play a different style of football. Just hopping no more 5-0… at least 5-3, shoe that we got some bite. I am excited to see some young players in Inter! We didn’t have a great mercato but definitely one that was a bit different. Also don’t forget we just established the U23. So they used some of the budget for that too.
inter a mid table team this season
base on what?
The terrible mercato probably
what? alright. i think its premature to conclude that.
Well Inter kept the same squad that was running on literally scraps both defence and attack. But now even without the arrival of Lookman Inter have two young hungry players that will fight to play. The defence is still a big risk but the transfer is not over so Inter at the minimum they might get a defender
nah bro were wining the scuddeto this season
Based on other reports we should have around 50M left to spend. It’s absolutely VITAL that we bring in a starting quality CCB. Keep one of De Vrij or Acerbi as backup and we’re good to go.
remembrr guys, inter owner is investment company. their sole priority is to make profit for their client, not 100% to grow inter as a club and community. so not every profit will 100% use in mercato.
True but a fund like Oaktree makes the biggest chunk of their profit from the sale of a company or in this case the club. So they have a lot more reason to invest and grow the shit out of inter before selling at the best price. A soccer team isn’t a cash flow play it’s an exit play for a financial firm especially considering the debt we have.
But agreed no 100% not all profit is used for mercato,
supposedly we have a budget of $80m left.
just spent $25m on the Lens player.
that leaves $55m
could have paid $40m for Leoni weeks ago.
what a waste of Italian youth best defensive talent. He’ll sit on the bench in Liverpool rotting away just as Casadei did at Chelsea.
40 milion for leoni is to much, good talent but not promised player that promise you to play games in high level.
we didnt sell any old players only arna
Their contract was finished and there was no point in renewing them beacuse nobody would have bought them
they just fufilled their contract and left
oh i got u wrong, you mean like Darmian? Some players are important to the dressing room and some like Taremi couldnt be sold yet. It’s hard to sell old players so you may have to prepare to let them stay as long as they have a contract.
we should atleast bench them or smth not let them start
Omid I think he is talking about the ones we still have. There isn’t much time left on their contracts and they have high wages so no one will buy them right now. They will teach the younger players and hopefully not be too complacent knowing they will be leaving soon.
Keep the oldies and buy average players. If that is Marotta and management strategy it’s best they get out of Inter. They throwing away barella and lautaro prime years with that policy and Marotta is all to blame…….
Josh, I’m assuming the oldies are nearing the end of their contracts and on high wages. I hope these players prove you wrong because I’m excited to give youth a chance. Everything about this season is a risk, and Inter were particularly unlucky with Kone, but I can’t help but feel excited. Time to give youth a chance!
Respect to you… Seems we’ll be getting along just fine this season. Unless Inter brings back Inzaghi or any other manager that prioritizes defence over a playstyle that is enjoyable to watch
Microwave, I agree, I’m not as annoyed by your comments lately. There will be times when Chivu will be forced to play more defensively (and it shouldn’t be viewed as the end of the world) but the tactical flexibility and intention to be more attacking is highly appreciated. I liked Mourinho’s, Inzaghi’s and Mancini’s football. Could the football have been better, definitely yes, but they all succeeded with Inter in my books, and many many many coaches do not. None of them gave youth much of a chance, so I’m cautiously optimistic about this.
the oldies have low salary and they came for cheap fee. So i think its okay to let them stay.
