New Inter Milan midfielder Petar Sucic has hit the ground running from the very beginning of his career in Serie A.
According to Corriere dello Sport via FCInterNews, the 21-year-old has impressed with his composure, vision, and versatility.
Despite having Piotr Zielinski and Davide Frattesi at his disposal, Cristian Chivu fielded Sucic from the first minute against Torino.
Indeed, the Croatian star lined up alongside Nicolo Barella and Henrikh Mkhitaryan at the heart of Inter’s midfield.
Furthermore, he exceeded expectations on his debut.
Inter Milan Star Petar Sucic Making Strides in Serie A

Petar Sucic looks determined to establish himself as a permanent starter at San Siro right from the start.
He seized the opportunity opened up by Hakan Calhanoglu’s absence to prove his worth to Chivu.
As a result, it’s hard to imagine the 44-year-old removing him from the starting line-up against Udinese this weekend.
Though Calhanoglu will return from suspension, Sucic will likely retain his place in the engine room.
Meanwhile, Sucic’s rise to prominence could further derail Zielinski’s first-team prospects.
Hakan is done for. He was bad last season and should only be used as a sub.
The starting trio: Hakan, Barella, Sucic.
Hakan should not move much forward and should save energy for defensive duties. Barella and Sucic are enough when going forward.
Honestly, Hakan wasn’t that good in defense last season, too many lost balls at the middle of pitch last season, which created opportunities for other teams.
Hakan had little energy last season and went forward a lot. IMO if he runs less forward and stays more defensive, he will perform better. I would like Chivu try Zielinski in that position as well, to see if he can rotate with Hakan. Barella and Sucic are superb when going forward and creating attacking opportunities, so I don’t want to see them play as DM. Unless Chivu unlocks Frattesi’s potential and we have a starting trio of Barella, Sucic and Frattesi.
Hopefully Stankovic will mature in Belgium and will be able to be our DM starting from next season, as both Hakan and Zielinski are on decline anyways. I see he is playing as a starter in Belgium, next summer will be interesting to see how Chivu assesses him.
But even if Frattesi is unlocked, IMO it would be better to rotate him with Barella and Sucic as CMs, and Hakan be the starter DM.
i agree Hakan was sloppy in possession at times but we never played with a DM under inzaghi. All of our defensive work in midfield was through pressing with the forwards. We haven’t had a true DM that excels in tackles and ball recovery in ages
