Inter Milan will reportedly only sign a defender before the end of the summer transfer window on one condition.
This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInter1908.
For months, it has seemed all but inevitable that Inter would sign a defender at some point this summer.
The Nerazzurri are currently relying on aging duo Stefan de Vrij and Francesco Acerbi at the heart of their back three.
Meanwhile, there have been transfer links away for the likes of Benjamin Pavard and Yann Bisseck.
Furthermore, Inter have sold wingback Nicola Zalewski to Atalanta this summer. Therefore, this means that Carlos Augusto will be required to play on the flank more.
Accordingly, the versatile Brazilian will not be able to deputize for Alessandro Bastoni in defense as often.
Inter Milan Will Only Sign A Defender On One Condition

According to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, Inter are not necessarily going to sign a defender this summer.
The Nerazzurri consider what they have to be sufficient. Particularly considering that no players have left in the position.
Inter will wait and see if there are any opportunities to sign a defender who is within their price range.
If this doesn’t end up presenting itself, then Inter will stick with what they have.
We need a new director of sports and good scouts…Ausillio and his assistant already had their bags packed for the Saudi money and don’t have time to recruit decent players for inter anymore. It’s time to start afresh as this transfer window was a waste of time, we spent months chasing lookman only to realize we couldn’t afford him? And now we are told inter is only left with 20m to spend? What happened to all the millions we made last year getting to the final of Uefa? Our president and sport director are just playing with the minds of the fans I see
