The Milan City Council has officially approved the sale of the iconic San Siro stadium to AC Milan and Inter.
This according to Gazzetta dello Sport, who report live from the vote. The sale clears the way for both clubs to move forward with plans for a modern stadium.
Meanwhile, this decision marks a historic moment for the two Serie A giants.
Indeed, they will now jointly own the venue and be free to continue with their ambitious project.
Therefore, construction of a new state-of-the-art stadium could soon get underway.
Furthermore, the new stadium could potentially enable the city to host EURO 2032. This after UEFA’s previous rejection of San Siro.
Milan City Council Approves San Siro Sale To AC Milan & Inter

For Milan and Inter, this is a huge step forward.
As already confirmed by Beppe Marotta, building a new stadium has always been one of Inter’s priorities.
On the other hand, this is also a massive deal for the city.
Indeed, it promises to boost local infrastructure, create jobs, and attract international events for years to come.
Meanwhile, the Milan clubs have already agreed a deal with the renowned British firm Norman Foster to design the new facility.
Good news, but even so why do we need to share with Milan stadium? For example if Oaktree should sell Inter right now, let’s set a price at 1.7 billion, with our own stadium which would cost us 800 mill that price could go easily 3 billion. Maybe the prices aren’t 100% correct, but they are approximate.
Milan is also owned by investment fund so they just sharig stadium as less money invested. I think even now with San Siro in the bag our value would be higher than €1 billion quoted by Forbes back in May. Although it’s all speculative and Oaktree might hold out for significantly higher bid.
Yeah, i know Oaktree doesn’t want to invest much, but even before them, no one wanted to invest in separation from Milan, by now stadium would’ve been repaid. How many top teams beside ours share their stadium with local rivals (aside Italian clubs)?
No one
Finally some common sense in politicians
I think both clubs looking to move outside of city limits had more to do with that than actual common sense. It only took them 6 years to make the right decision.
Wow, finally! This news has my Inter heart doing the happy dance. As Beppe Marotta probably said, weve been waiting for this like it was the last slice of pizza in the fridge. Now, lets hope Norman Foster designs a stadium that doesnt look like a modern art masterpiece we cant afford to sit in. And please, lets keep the UEFA approval for EURO 2032 on the cards, will ya? Maybe Milan and Inter can finally agree on who gets the last slice… of victory. Bring on the jobs and the (hopefully affordable) seats! ⚫️app đếm ngược giờ
Massive news. It will impact our finances for decades to come.
