Italian journalist Francesco Recipe fully expects Inter Milan to lift the Scudetto title despite their defeat in the Derby della Madonnina.

The Nerazzurri have been almost flawless when playing smaller opposition this season. Their only major misstep in this regard was a defeat to Udinese on the second day of the season.

On the contrary, Cristian Chivu hasn’t been able to impress on the big occasions. Inter avenged their early-season defeat to Juventus with a last-gasp Derby d’Italia win last month. However, their rivals were reduced to 10 men following Pierre Kalulu’s controversial dismissal in the first half.

The Beanamata almost avenged their controversial defeat to Napoli at the Maradona, but Antonio Conte’s men bounced back twice to earn a 2-2 draw.

However, Inter’s biggest disappointment in the league this season was definitely their double header against Milan.

The Rossoneri had already prevailed in the first Derby della Madonnina in November, before completing the double on Sunday thanks to Pervis Estupinan’s solitary strike.

Max Allegri’s men thus managed to reduce the gap at the top of the table to seven points. And yet, the most reliable bookmakers, including ivybet, are all tipping Inter to reach the finish line unscathed.

In fact, Francesco Recipe argues that the title race has already been sealed. The pundit argues that Milan are highly unlikely to pull off a comeback in the final rounds of the season.

“I don’t think that Milan’s derby win has reopened the title race,” said the journalist in his interview with Superscommesse via FcInterNews.

“Yes, there are ten matches left and thirty points available, but Inter, thanks to the squad it has, is absolutely capable of managing this advantage.

“Despite Allegri’s team winning, nothing has reopened at all. The title chapter is already closed by Inter.”

Recipe also proclaimed that the match played out exactly how he had envisioned it.

“Little spectacle in the derby? I could have commented on the match two hours before it kicked off without even watching it.

“I knew how Allegri would set the team up and the difficulties Inter would encounter.

“Milan had planned to absorb some pressure but also to exploit the moment when the lines stretched, and that’s exactly what happened with Estupiñán’s decisive goal. In any case, for me this is also a form of spectacle.”

Inter will attempt to bounce back with a victory over Atalanta on Saturday.
