Former Italian striker Aldo Serena believes Juventus defender Gleison Bremer would be the ideal signing for Inter Milan.

Most fans and observers consider the Brazilian one of the best centre-backs in Serie A, if not the ultimate best.

The 29-year-old sustained an ACL injury in October that ruled him out of action for the rest of the 2024/25 campaign.

Bremer returned to the pitch in August, but he also suffered a few injury setbacks this season, including a meniscus problem that required surgical intervention.

Nevertheless, on his day, Bremer is a top-notch defender that every coach would like in his team.

Brazil boss Carlo Ancelotti has recently called up the Juventus star, marking his return to the national team for the first time since the beginning of his injury ordeal.

If Bremer can stay healthy until the end of the campaign, he will most likely join the Selecao’s World Cup squad.

Brazil are considered among the Top 5 favourites to win the 48-team tournament according to BetUS and other trustworthy bookmakers. Therefore, Bremer could well return to Italy next summer with a World Cup medal.

However, Serena is hoping that the centre-back lands in Milan rather than Turin.

Aldo Serena Wants Gleison Bremer At Inter Milan

The former Inter Milan is urging Giuseppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio to recruit a top-class centre-back, especially if Alessandro Bastoni ends up leaving. The latter has recently emerged as a serious transfer target for Barcelona.

Therefore, Serena believes Bremer is the profile that the Serie A leaders must pursue in the summer, while considering Bayern Munich’s Kim Min-jae as a solid alternative.

“You start with a fast defender, especially if Bastoni leaves, and a top-level centre-back,” said Serena in his interview with La Repubblica via FcInterNews.

“Gleison Bremer would be an exceptional signing. And Kim is also a good name. That’s the level Inter need.”

Curiously, there was a time when Bremer was supposedly ‘betrothed’ to Inter. This goes all the way back to February 2022, when the Nerazzurri had an agreement in principle with Torino on a summer move.

However, the Nerazzurri weren’t able to raise transfer funds in time. On the other hand, Juventus sold Matthijs de Ligt to Bayern Munich and immediately reinvested some of the cash from the sale in Bremer.

The Brazilian’s contract with the Bianconeri reportedly includes a release clause worth €56 million this summer. But a transfer to Inter remains unlikely at this stage.
