Inter have held new contacts with the entourage of Juventus winger Nico González, positioning the 27-year-old Argentine as their primary fallback option should the pursuit of Ademola Lookman break down, according to reporting from Sky Sport Italia.

The development was surfaced by OneFootball, with Sky Sport Italia identifying González as Inter’s number one alternative to Lookman. The supplementary detail – that González would cost around €20 million plus bonuses – was also confirmed by SempreInter, citing the same broadcaster via FCInterNews.

González is not part of Igor Tudor’s plans at Juventus and is considered available this summer. He joined the Bianconeri from Fiorentina last summer but endured an inconsistent debut campaign, and Juventus could be willing to sell him for a fee of around €20 million plus add-ons.

Atalanta Complicating Both Pursuits

The González thread is directly tied to the Lookman situation. Atalanta’s opening response to Inter’s €40 million offer for Lookman was a request for Pio Esposito as part of the deal – a proposal Piero Ausilio dismissed immediately. Ausilio made his position plain on Sky Sport Italia, indicating Inter will not be dragged into a prolonged negotiation.

Further complicating matters, Atalanta are also tracking González themselves, viewing him as a replacement should Lookman leave. That means Inter and La Dea are effectively competing on both fronts simultaneously, with González’s destination contingent on how the Lookman saga resolves.

The fee horizon of €20 million plus bonuses makes González a considerably more accessible proposition than Lookman, and the fresh contacts with his camp signal that Inter are keeping the option warm rather than treating it as a distant contingency.
