In an interview on Sunderland’s official website, safc.com, former Inter player Ricky Alvarez looked ahead to Sunday’s cup tie against Leeds, whilst reflecting a first festive period in English football: “It is an incredibly historical competition both here in the UK and around the world, so it will be special to be able to play in it especially for me because it is my first chance to do so.This is the first time I have had to play so many games in such a short space of time with the fixtures coming thick and fast, but I hope that we will be able to pick up a positive result and progress to the next round of the competition. It will be a great game to play in and a game that we will do our best to win.”
