Walter Mazzarri has decided to speak for the first time since being sacked by Inter.
In an interview with World Soccer Digest, Mazzarri stated that he felt his dismissal at Inter was uncalled for: “In my opinion there were no gorunds to sack me. When it comes to the situation surrounding the club, I have my ideas but everyone pretends that they don’t know. I won’t say anything else, there will be a time and place to speak about it in the future.”
“All the experts have always revognized my teams as being ones where there’s always an organisation and purpose to what happens on the pitch. Furthermore, Conte’s Juventus, who play with a 3-man defense, have won 3 straight Scucetto’s and changed how they play to adapt to how we play, aside from being provincial.
“The objective facts are irrefutable. But for some professional critics mathematics is reduced to becoming an opionion and no-one is as blind as those who don’t want to see. I know how it works, the preconceptions about a person is able to distort reality” Mazzarri concludes.

U guys are debating and comparing this guy with mancio, the fact is that since mourinho inter never hired a good coach that is why we keep going down
You simply could not WIN, that was the gound
What a shameless moron !!
Your were couching INTER not Napoli if you don’t win the league you get kicked out and shut up. Yet he compares himself to Conte!!!!!!!!!!! what an absolute Asshole.
His response is like his decisions as a coach. Late and overdue.
Low level coach, That’s it, No further discussion
poor guy
That’s funny. I don’t think Inter had any ground hiring you in the first place. Provincial coach at a big club. Fish out of water. Poi e cominciato a piovere……
What a narcissitic man. How many trophies that you’ve won, sir?
What I disliked about Mazzarri was
a) his unswerving faith in some players who are pretty terrible (e.g. jonny) and his misuse of others (e.g. guarin).
b) his lack of tactical versatility-despite saying we had the players to play with 3/4 at the back we only ever saw 3 at the back consistently. And (this is perhaps my biggest gripe yet one i’ve not heard many voice tbh) there’s only 1 fucking way to play 3 at the back that’s properly competitive. The original catenaccio style is dead and buried because you’d basically need a team like
Suarez – Robben
Messi
Mascherano – Lahm
Alaba – Boateng – Silva – Ramos – Alves
Handanovic
(it’s a rough draft and sorry guys there’s no place for cr7 in a catenaccio team as he has next to no defensive awareness and lacks the tactical versatility of Suarez/Robben/Messi.)
Only one of them is on our team-the combined value of that sort of xi is beyond any individual club’s means nowadays-you need a fluid attacking triumvirate, 2 destroyers at the base of midfield capable of good distribution and holding their nerve when it counts. You need height, strength and a spread of pace along the back line. It’s not feasible in 2015. The best compromise is a 3-4-3 but that will get torn apart by the wingers of Bayern and Real while a slight tactical adjustment in-game by the likes of man city, chelsea, psg, barca, bvb will screw us.
If Mazzarri has any more sense he’d realise this. And Pep will find 3 at the back doesn’t work against other european heavyweights again. just take it from him
Go Home you are drunk 🙂
the lack of a giacinto and jair are problematic to say the least lol
he is already at home and drunk
I like your draft. You made sense with the catenaccio musing with current players though. But Mazzarri was the architect of his own downfall.
At the start of this season, he promised a 4-man backline alongside his outdated 3-man backline, but we didn’t see any 4-man defense.
And when you are coaching a team like Inter (OR even Bilan & Rube) – you are judged by the results regardless of the amount of time left to you.
Not too long ago, Rube sacked Ferrara and the professor for lack of performance for finishing 7th in the league, so sacking Mazzarri after a year and a half for the same shitty play is pretty much justified.
dude, first cut is the deepest. the first experience of being sacked will haunt you at its best :/ but yes, thank you for those better performance since you handled this team
Clearly the biggest problem with inter right now is the squad, not the coaching. Mazzarri wasn’t as bad as the results made it seem, but he needed to leave because it felt things were becoming a little too negative around the club. Not to mention that Mancini immediately raised our profile and got us to sign some great players
for all of you low expectation disgraceful backslappers dissing Mazzari, how different the RESULTS been so far in the league with Fantastic Mancio than it was with Mazzari, its a tie.. giving the fact mancio have the advantage of the new fantastic January signings, The story in short is.. MORATTI became unhappy with
!!LET US HONOR OUR COACHES NO MATTER WHAT!!
Mazzari because Mazzari didnt take his advice on formation against after Torino game and with Sassoulo of which we one 7-0 the only two times in my life as fan since 30 years i got to enjoy such result!.. (dont you all feel the same way??) it was Mazzari who brought it to us, Moratti was angry with his he wanted him out, Tohrir ignored the situation, so Moratti turned to the Ultras, they feud the hate and none of that benifited the good of Inter, Mazzari was great coach before he came to Inter, and picked us up to 5th from 9h with same team, and he could have done 3rd this year if it wasnt for Mr. Moratti… those who are just babbling you may as well set back try to think… Mancini is great coach made us enjoy our games better, and it will be sometime before he gets Inter back on its feet.. but is he gonna be sacked too … Morrati sacked him for no reason right after he won the League, and the only reason he is back cause Moratti is not in Charge, the tribble we won 2010 it was Mancini work with Morinho filling in and connecting the dots, lets not talk bad about our previous coaches, they all served Inter honorably, and Mazzari was a fan when he left Napoli taking them twice to second place from 10th in the league… dont talk bad about an Inter Caoch cause you are insulting my granda INTER, OUR Granda INTER
dueces
what a provoking and ignorant comment. mazzarri was absolutely not good at all. the matches was boring to watch and there was no game plan. look at this: no last game for zanetti – maybe inters biggest hero in modern time, deciding not to give confidence to players (all of them), giving captaincy to ranocchia.. he’s careless, stubborn and got a defensive playing style. allthough inter are known for a capable defense, inter is surely also known as an attacking threat to.. one lucky game can’t justify his spell at inter which was less that satisfying to say the least.
and mancio: he was sacked because he didn’t back the team. Imo i think he said “i want to quit this team” after the liverpool game. then mourinho got available, and inter took the opportunity, and face it inter would be stupid not to as he had the potential – and also showed – that he could change the team.
now mancio is back and are propving he has learned. he brings enthusiasm, fighting spirit and also his attractive name. inter is bigger with him, rather than without.
in the era of mazzarri i actually lost interest in inter and in their shitty poor and boring game, and even contemplated stop watching the hurtful games, even though i knew it wouldn’t happen. i sincerely hope that mancio will stay at inter next year, and that it is nothing in the exit-option in his contract, because with him i think the team as a unit and professionals will change.
lastly, even though our results still poor, we at least got a better spirit and motivation on the pitch.
well said!
du er ikke rigtig, 🙂 any ways we are all inter fans dissing me or anyone else is not gonna help, i assure you am not an ignorant, you are looking at the empty half of the glass, you and many others are just repeating what the ultras and Media that backs them have said, all i wanted to say he was an inter coach and i dont understand why so much attack on him, he didnt get the chance to show what he can do, Sir Alex with United had first 3 years utter faliure he is the greatest achieved coach of all times, but Man united gave him time to build… i wish Mancini will get his chance i am only afraid two months from now every one wants him sacked too, thats not whats football about since we won the tribble we sacked more managers than any other big club in Europe and more than England top 5 combined, it aint right….. slut 🙂
hva mener du? er jeg ikke riktig god i hodet eller mener du at jeg tar feil? (startsetningen kan tydes på to måter i norge). men tar jeg feil på noe må du si ifra hva det er for jeg er veldig sikker på at jeg har besvart rett.
don’t take my comment personal. i was attacking the comment, not you 🙂 and, regarding sir alex, I’m a big fan of his and also the fact that a coach should be given a chance. and i must admit, if you don’t got the name, you will not get the rightful backing (i.e. funding for players). maybe the reason is that you have to show results first? who knows. but, one thing you are forgetting is that sir alex had a firm grip on the mentality of the players, with his aggressive and never give up attitude. could you see this in mazzarris inter? i for sure couldn’t. its important to note that not everyone should be given longer time, even though some great examples show that its fruitful.
vi er ihvertfall like engasjerte for inter:) vi får håpe mancini gjør det godt!:)
naaah am sure your brain function just as good as it should be :)…i meant you are not right about your statement, i wrote the comment, so being viewed that way maybe a bit hasty… am happy to see fellow Norwegian has your passion for inter, i live in Denmark so first thing watching the games live is weekly fight for me. how do you manage to watch the games????
i can’t stress this enough, I ALSON WAS NOT HAPPY WITH MAZZARI in the last days of his tenure, but yes i do believe he would have turned things around, he had good rapport and surely enough he is an intelligent coach with characteristics lacked to so many, sooner or later he will be taking on new club and take them to the top till then i hope it won’t be ac milan, then it won’t be the first time Inter snub talent for Milan to get best of it…
That been said.. i write what i write fearing same destiny for mancini who is a fantastic coach, but with Inter’s management attitude of changing coaches like underwear, its scares the shit out of my UNDERWEAR 😛
hehe, ok. i can see what you mean. seems like we have had an misunderstanding then.
about mazzarri. i will try to notice him, to see if he will succeed. about the sacking part; let hope tohir will be more patient about his coaches than others have been. and furthermore, lets hope the future good ones don’t leave the club.
the channel “c more” (i think it is a nordic cooperation) are showing some of the games, though i have recently moved and don’t have access now, so i use the web-site “first row”. the quality is both good and bad, but at least you can watch every game 🙂
takk 🙂
Wow, you too? I stopped watching Inter games for a while too…
I did that too. I stopped watching Inter’s games because they ended up ruining the whole business week for me.
The plastic EPL fan boys wouldn’t stop their taunts either and on top of that – the team had no clue how to defend properly or attack with meaning.
It was so bad – I blamed myself for developing a non-detachable attachment to this team.
No mancini no shaqiri. Enough grounds.
Until he proves himself at a team different from his Napoli with Cavani, Lavezzi, Hamsik and company, I will never consider him a good coach, period. I think he is a self-deluded stubborn not-so good coach.
man seriously, who knew cavani, or hamsik before he came in to Napoli they were literally nothing, nobody, he is stars manufacturer thats why he didnt ask for new signings he believed in inter players he believed in inter… lets not disgrace his memory he was one of us
you can not call him a star manufacturer if he made the players worse off rather that good.. guarin, kovacic, palacio got worse. but maybe you must be thinking of the great Johnny boy;)
you can based on four years in Napoli and other in Samp, you cant base short stint at Inter, you cant manufacture super car in 2 years Pigani Zonda been there forever 😉
a good and fair point
He was never ONE OF US! He was stuck in his memory of Livorno and Napoli and the only thing he cared about was just himself.
Besides as far as I remember Cavani had a great time in Palermo and Moratti stated that he was considering to make a move for him.
What I really don’t like about you:
– Stubborn
– Often blaming something/someone when we lost (I would gladly give a mirror to you for free)
– Rarely seemed pleased with the players performance
– Seemed rarely approach a player to give confidence and boost his potential
– Last, IMHO, many players didn’t like nor felt happy to be coached by him
And Drop Zanetti at His Last Milan Derby Match
Oh man, I’m ashamed as Interisti to forgot that, thanks chap!
I still remember the Rain, it is the reason we didn’t win last night.
I heard Livorno is looking for a coach.
lol
I think jonathan is enough grounds for sacking you
He is good coach but he had no good players. He won twice 7-0 what couldn’t any coach. But Mancini is better.
we think a like check what i had to say in comment let us honor our coaches no matter what, wrote it before i read your comment
Just go to hell. Period.
Stubborn people is hardly seen himself stubborn. All of this defines you, doing exactly same thing over and over again, expecting different result…
anyone want to join his conversation?
anyone?
