In a recent interview with Swiss newspaper Blick! former Nerazzurri player Xherdan Shaqiri reflected on his short time with the club. During which he spoke about his relationship with Roberto Mancini, the manager of the nerazzurri: “I with him have never had any problems. Only, he has often changed his opinion on me”. Speaking of his experience at Inter, Shaq revealed an anecdote: “One time I was injured and I needed to be ready for a game. They told me that there was a miraculous healer who lived in the mountains. I drove for half an hour in a car to have been manipulated by an old man, but he did not help me at all. This is also why Stoke City was the best choice: here there are seven physiotherapists, who will examine me everyday: hips, feet, legs. Everything in a professional manner”.
Shaqiri did not want to hear talk of Stoke City as a demotion after experiences at Bayern Munich and Inter: “I have heard this story a few times, the most important thing is that I can grow and I can only see this at Stoke City. I am still young. I did not expect that this choice would be such a good one. In the Premier League however in the last four months I have played in all matches, apart from those where I was injured at the time. This shows that I have made the right decision and that I am on the right track”.

from what I remember, Mancio did not want him- most of his appearances were after the 80 Minute, even Podolsky was Mancio’s first choice. Also he wanted to stay with us as most of the players he just needed time to acquire confidence but well there was just no time-

dont know about that, have you watched his games for stoke?, brilliant, i might have to admit it its hard but he is a notch better than perisic
he is more direct i admit, but perisic gives more on defensive and pressing play. What’s done is done, lets support our own players.

I believe that he is performing in England as the defenders are not on the attackers back like they are in Italy. Whilst I think he is a good player the mistakes made by defenders in England are laughable and really bring out the best in attackers.
this was a bad sale, sadly we didn’t give him a real chance- Perisic is such an average player, I can believe ppl are happy with this 20MM winger he is just not as good as many may think-

You still don’t get it. Because what you see from a winger is what he does on the attack. You completely miss the amount of work Perisic does for defense. Shaqiri might be a notch better than Perisic in attack, but Perisic is FAR better in defense…
perisic is not that good at defending either, but he does track back better, his technique and ball control is no where near shaq, don’t get me wrong pericic is good but shaq is just a magician that we should not have let go, mancini is starting it with jojo now which is very sad
I think you’re the one in denial. He only had glimpses of skill at Inter but never showed much of anything and we got brilliant money for him considering it. It was a great deal for us. He had a few good games in BPL but thats it, he was mediocre in the rest of them.
far from what you said, he did not get enough chances in inters shirt and everyone knows it, he deserved a lot more, and in epl had more than 2 great games, just that one performance against city perisic can dream of it
