To Sky Sport, Inter coach Stefano Pioli had the following to say after last night’s victory: “Pinamonti is very young but has a lot of qualities, I think his future is bright. Tonight I saw a team that played well, did some good things but still have a lot of things to improve. A three-man defense? We’re currently looking for some kind of balance, we are trying many different solutions and this could be one that works. Bitter to see Hapoel qualify to the knock-out round since we were very prepared for that away game and could have won it if it wasn’t for a late error. Gabigol? People talk too much about players not playing. We think about the team and then it’s up to the coach to pick the guys that are ready. If Gabigol doesn’t play this means that he isn’t as ready as his teammates getting the nod.”

3-X-X would be perfect for our Italians, it means Rano, Candreva and Eder in starting XI every time, which shouldn’t be bad I think. Now we have better players, than in Mazzarri’s times. I would like to see it.
I want to see Pinamonti more…
“Running around in circles” Inter’s motto since 2010
it because Inter never really found their identity since Mou left and many senior players have also left. it also goes down to the fact that Inter keep changing coaches while in midst of pursuing players so when the new coach arrives he has to make do with these sort of players that eventually does not fit to his style of play. Unless Inter can be more patience with Pioli this time around perhaps there is a chance. Give him the full season.
Naga – Rano – D’Ambro … stuff that nightmares are made of
Looking at what we have at the back, 3 defenders is a recipe for disaster… considering that we are in disaster, so it will be a disaster of disaster…

I like the 3-4-3, seems like a good solution. but playing this formation means no place for banega, and i don’t know how i feel about that
Agree with you, but Banega hasn’t showed much – he’s so slow on the ball(not Kondogbia slow) always takes 4-5 touches on the ball before passing it, and tends to run across the pitch with the ball not forward with it like Mario or Broso do!
I don’t think he fits into the tactical very avare league like the Italian one! We also saw yesterday that we played quite well without him; the players weren’t always looking to pass the ball to him but were trying to take some responsibility themselves by long-passing the ball to the wings!
The 3-4-3 system, yesterday, provided great cover to the defense, by having Melo who dropped into center defense next to Ranno and by having 2 players on each side dropping back closing the wings down.
Candreva and Eder knows how to play with each other in that system from the national team on the right hand side, and on the left Miangue and Mario could work out fine together!
In attack the system opened up space for our solo striker and the movements by Eder and Palacio – where they dropped inside the box more than going to the byline – also meant more bodies in the box for our wing backs to aim for!
Even Ranno has showed before he does well in a 3 back defense – that was also the reason why Conte kept calling him up and why Ranno kept being linked to Juve with Conte in charge!
i noticed it too. 3-4-3 actually works for Inter with the kind of players they have currently. Banega has been a disappointment so far never really live up to expectation, unless Pioli changed to 3-5-2. 3-4-3 is more stable and fluid compared to 4-2-3-1 or 4-4-2 and with players thats willing to fall back and help the defense this might just be the answer.
Agree! And I hope it is the answer – but, hey this is Inter, we should expect nothing else but a collapse in the next game against mighty Genoa!

that’s cause we will play 3-5-2, it could work we will have 2 strikers but we need a fast one- Gabi…. for LM/RM Perisic/Candreva- 2 CDMs + CAM (Banega)
The problem with this formation is the LM/RM those players needs to have good stamina as they are the balance on attack and on defense-
Try 4-4-2 man!
With Contes 3-4-3 it would be more power up front but as we all know the offensive is not the problem! So with a 3-5-2 we get an extra man in the midfield so we maybe can win the midfield game! But then.. the team is to lazy to manage a 3 man defens!
the problem is they type of players Inter have at disposal. there is no doubt Inter has lots of strikers and forwards and with 3-5-2 that is a waste and Pioli sees this. with 3-4-3 there fluidity going forward at the expense of creative midfielder like banega but they can insert strength in the midfield with stronger holding midfield.
