Inter struggled to their 8th win on the trot and made heavy weather of what was supposed to be a routine win against a team that is virtually relegated and has not won at home all season. Read on to see how we rate them
Handanovic – 6 : Palermo didn’t have a single shot on target. He did very well on their set pieces and any crosses they pumped in. He made Interisti feel calm tonight.
D’Ambrosio – 6 : He sat back tonight and did his defensive duties well. Once of his better games. He also managed to get most accurate crosses in tonight. Stable.
Murillo – 6.5 : Continued his good run of form, just like 2015. He isnt a leader but does well when the team is confident. Good tackling, strength and defensive play tonight
Miranda – 6 : Struggled at the start(Thanks Ansaldi), but used all his experience to claw his way back and lead the defense. The only reliable consistent defender we have.
Ansaldi – 4.5 : His performances are dwindling. All of Palermo’s early forays came from his flank. Unable to do anything at all upfront. Then sent off to put us in trouble.
Gagliardini – 6.5 : He linked and moved the ball in ways that defy his age. Calm and composed. He looked tired towards the end as he has played 300 minutes in 8 days.
Brozovic – 6 : Back to the team after his suspension and looked rusty. Didn’t have the usual epicness. On another day he would have scored and made things easier.
Candreva – 6 : Did nothing of note till that assist and nothing of note after that. Only got 1 cross accurate tonight and got the all important assist for it. Too hesitant.
Banega – 5 : He needs to stop wearing the invisibility cloak. When he came deeper to get the ball we started to make things happen. Then dissapeared again. Missing.
Perisic – 5.5 : From kick off nothing went right for him. Like Candreva he was hesitant too and overdid stuff tonight. Needs to let his natural game take over. Struggle.
Icardi – 5.5 : On another day, would’ve bagged a brace. Tonight was his worst performance this season for me. I still cant believe he missed those 2 chances, off night.
J.Mario – 7 : Mr. Fantastic. Fabulous movement overall and an invaluable goal. He toyed with Palermo’s midfield from the moment he came on and took control.
Kondogbia – 6.5 : He did exactly what Pioli wanted him to do. Oozed class in his 20 mins and barely put a foot wrong. He won the ball and a lot of free kicks to relieve pressure
Santon – 5.5 : Good 15 mins and did whatever defending he had to properly. Too bad the game situation didn’t allow him to do much else. 3 months since he last played.
Pioli – 5.5 : After the Chievo game last week, this game was a huge step back regardless of the result. The mentality got us through but we need to start games better.
Irrati – 5 : Too many soft free kicks awarded to both teams. Poor decisions on atleast 2-3 bookings and penalties tonight for both sides. Didn’t let play flow at all
Inter – 5.5 : Yes we got the 3 points which is good as it shows our big club mentality, but this was a below par performance against a team that is virtually relegated.

Inter rating is a bit unfair. The team was tired after the long game and the conditions were awful. So 5.5 is unfair
author forget it was a very hard game today, when rain fall down like that the less talented group get a huge advantage. everything is very slippery and goes hard. good win from our team. next week a the meeaza inter will play good again im sure of it.

Very bad biased rating. Ansaldi did well, he got an undeserved red, made up and cover for Miranda’s slowness with his pace. DID some nice dribbles.
Dumbo: at least a 7. He did really well.
SANton was horrendous, almost caused us a goal and only lobbed the ball when under pressure.
PIOLI did well, his substitution scored a goal. And introducing KDog was a great decision.
Batmanovic can also get higher cause he kept a clean sheet and dealt very well with crosses with a wet ball.
5.5 for Pioli!? Is this a joke?
Probably this rating is inspired of our pretty much unsatisfying performance today against virtually relegated team. We was most of the time sluggish, predictable, lacking creativity and continued to be clueless at set pieces. We can’t expect every game to be lucky enough, win with one goal or score in last minutes. Overall I’m very satisfied with Pioli until now, he find the balance and the best system that now works for us. He’s rotating the players very well, making every player feel important, use substitutions very effective and isn’t afraid to takes risks, when is needed. But if we have to be honest, if we want to continue have chances for Champions League spot this season, we have to start winning more convincingly, especially against lower table teams. And we have to play more fast, diverse and unpredictable.
It was an away game in a wet potato farm, not a football pitch, against a “there is nothing to lose” opponent, which wasn’t allowed to have a single shot on our goal. We controlled it, created chances and at the right moment converted it.
I’m satisfied.

I really hope Miangue will be regular next week and Santon will be sold to Sampdoria, I’m so sick and tired of Ansaldi and his stupidity.
Ansaldi always did a fine job, not great but fine. and he always available in both phase attack and defense.
