Chelsea are adamant that the former Azzurri manager will remain and owner Roman Abramovich could meet with Conte to discuss his future just shortly, despite Conte having two years remaining on his contract, signed last summer. Conte wishes to expand his coaching staff and be granted more power at Stamford Bridge. He also wants to see big improvements made in the upcoming transfer window.
Diego Simeone, despite his recent words, remains Inter’s top alternative to succeed Stefano Pioli on the Inter bench. Luciano Spalletti and Maurizio Sarri, of Roma and Napoli respectively are two alternatives from within Italy. Tottenham’s Mauricio Pochettino is a new name and another alternative while Walter Sabatini is working on a so far secret name.
