The director of SportEconomy.it Marcel Vulpis spoke to Corriere dello Sport on the Chinese investment in football: “They [the Chinese] have a river of money. In total 24 clubs, between the first and the fourth division, have changed ownership in eight different countries, the new owners all have a Chinese passport. They all have interests in various fields: from traditional sports marketing and entertainment, to the real estate, finance, technology, energy, groups of sports agents or investment in football academies. Nine acquisitions have led to total control of the shares, the other four over 98%, with eight economic commitments between 50 and 80%, the remaining three are moving between 13 and 20%.”
