In recent days, Nerazzurri fans have had a chance to pass questions to Joao Miranda via Inter’s official Facebook page. Today, the Brazilian defender who arrived from Atletico Madrid was asked the questions that were deemed most interesting by Roberto Scarpini:
What would you like for 2016?
“I ask for a lot of energy and I hope to win titles with Inter.”
What do you think of Inter being first in the standings? What is the secret of the team, maybe the team spirit?
“I believe in the team a lot, with awareness we now want to fight for the Scudetto. We have a group that is very united and strong, focused to win. I hope I can realize the dream of being champion with Inter.”
What is the most important reason that led you to choose Inter?
“The fact that Inter is a great team and have shown to have a very good project. This is demonstrated by the fact that we are first in the standings. The goal is to qualify for the next Champions League.”
What do you think of Jeison Murillo? Can he become one of the best in the world?
“Jeison, as well as Andrea Ranocchia and Juan Jesus, is a great defender with great potential. I hope all of them will perform at a high level showing their value.”
Who is your best friend at Inter?
“Honestly we are a very good team. I am very close to the Brazilians and I can mention Juan who helped me a lot when I arrived in Italy and gave me a hand in all the things I needed. But Dodo, Felipe Melo, Alex Telles and all South Americans have helped me a lot, facilitating my adjustment.”
How do you like it at Inter and what do you think of Inter?
“Milan surprised me, it’s a beautiful city that has welcomed me very well. Then at Inter the directors, as well as the technical staff, has given me great support for me to play good football and they allow me to be calm. All the infrastructure is available to be able to do a great job, it is a great club and I hope to return with performances on the highest level and win many titles.”
How do you prepare mentally for the game? What music do you listen to?
“I play every game as if it were the last, I prepare to win. Every game is like a final for me. The best way to prepare is to focus and do your best. I don’t have a particular music, I’m very focused on the game and what I have to do to always make the right decision on the field.”
Regarding the defense, is there something that is similar to the defense of Atletico Madrid?
“Those are two very strong defenses, the most obvious thing is that the whole team helps the defense and sacrifices for a good defense. Beyond the quality of the defenders, the attackers are the first to defend and this facilitates our work. A great team comes from a great defense.”
What are the differences between Serie A and La Liga?
“The Serie A surprised me a lot, it’s very competitive. There are many teams considered small that can battle on par with the big teams. In La Liga big teams are extremely favored, in the Serie A it’s much more balanced if you ask me.”
How was your first day of training at Inter? Did you ever think you would be first?
“From the first day I thought a strong and winning team was being built, I came here thinking this. We have a great group and we will do our best to always be first. No one knows where we are at the end of the championship but with dedication, awareness and will we won’t fail.”
