Today’s Corriere dello Sport reports that Inter are looking for a low-cost option in central defence in the wake of the departure of Nemanja Vidic and the likely transfer of Andrea Ranocchia.

“After Armando Izzo of Genoa, the new candidate is Empoli’s Federico Barba who has also been linked to Napoli.”

“A former Roma youth product, Barba signed for Empoli last Summer after the departure of Daniele Rugani to Juventus and was expected to be a starter but it hasn’t worked out that way for the 22 year old who has only made eight appearances so far this season.”
