Roberto Mancini spoke to Sky Sport after the win.
Could Ljajic have a role in midfield?
“I think he is an extraordinary player in regards to skills and he does not have any problems with running. It is his head that does not work sometimes. He sits on the good things he does, maybe trains poorly a week, sometimes thinks he does not need to defend. But he is young, he needs to grow.”
Did you need sych rough criticism so as to be able to get the best out of the team?
“I think we did too well the first 18 games creating high expectations. We know very well that we did not have the quality and the strength of the others to win the league. Then there are moments when things go bad or when you play poorly. We wanted to win of course but we were in trouble in those two months.”
Was there an emotional reaction after what Ausilio said?
“I don’t think he was that hard. He knows the lads, there is respect and he knows how to say the right things. I think it is helpful every now and then. I hope so, maybe I will let him come on Sunday as well (to talk to the tv channels). But I had a fever in Turin and I got it up to 40 after that pass by D’Ambrosio,” says Mancini with a smile.
