Stefano Pioli can smile after Inter’s sixth straight win in the championship that puts them in front if Milan (one game behind though). This is what Pioli had to say about today’s clash against Palermo:
Will Joao Mario and Ever Banega continue to take turns or is the Argentine (looking at his last performances) lower in the hierarchy? “Today we won with both of them on the field, they are two important players, without a doubt.”
Players leaving during this mercato has been clear, what can you tell us about players coming in? Is this transfer market over for Inter? “The transfer market is of course impossible to predict, but I don’t think more players will come. I think we can say that our market is finished.”
Why didn’t Nagatomo come on as a substitute? “We are talking about a reliable player, but Palermo was dangerous on high balls. That’s why I decided to use Santon.”
Inter is really strong now, but the other teams are also doing well. “Today we won a tough game, I’m happy with our attitude even if we lacked a bit of rhythm. Since the other teams also are doing well we have to make an exceptional return, there’s nothing else we can do. But we are growing, next week will be important we have to be focused.”
What happened when you got sent off? “I stepped outside of the technical zone but the game was stopped, I didn’t think it was that serious. But I think I was correctly sent off.”
