Atalanta’s Alejandro Gomez gave a long interview to Corriere dello Sport, speaking on a wide variety of topics:
“In the past if Atalanta lost to Napoli, Fiorentina or Inter it was a normal thing while now, we can play on par with them. In this moment, we can beat every team in Serie A and we want to battle with Milan, Inter and Lazio for Europe. It will be an important match but not decisive because we still have many games until the end of the season.”
Gasperini?
“I think Inter didn’t have the patience to wait. In the big teams it’s normal, if you don’t have results, you change manager. He was also unlucky arriving to a group of champions who had won the treble.”
Gagliardini?
“He has a personality and no fear, I was sure he could do well. He’s humble and he isn’t afraid in front of the ball, he knew he had to show his value quickly and he did it. Fortunately, we continue to do well without Roberto.”
Banega?
“Serie A is difficult in the beginning, here new players needs time to know the opponents and other things. But he’s strong and he can make the difference.”
Who would I remove from this Inter?
“Icardi, he’s very strong. I could haven played for Inter in 2013, it was all done. Stramaccioni wanted me, but then he was fired and the deal was stopped.”
Simeone?
“He trained me at San Lorenzo and Catania, everything can happen.”
