Barcelona may not be able to sign Inter striker Lautaro Martinez due to their current financial situation, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.

The report details how the Spanish treasury have made it clear that they will be closely examine all companies that asked for state aid to get through the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, which includes Barcelona. The Blaugrana were hoping to raise €124 million by selling multiple players who were no longer needed at the club, but so far, no profitable deals have materialised and so the Catalan club are in a rough financial situation.

Considering that Inter have made it clear that they won’t accept less than €111 million for the 22-year-old Argentine striker, it seems unlikely now that Barcelona will be able to sign the player. Lautaro has scored 16 goals and provided four assists in 31 appearances across all competitions so far this season.
