During a brief, but intense, press conference ahead of today’s practice, Paulinho confirmed that he agreed with Corinhtians to refuse the offer submitted by Inter’s envoy Roberto Calenda: “There was an offer from Inter, that is true, and it involved a lot of money. I took my decision, together with the family, to stay at Corinthians. When I decide something, it means that I do so and for that reason I’ll stay at Corinthians which I already did last year. And now I turned down Inter once again. I must admit that Inter are a big European club. It involved a lot of money, that is true, but there are times when you just have to think about your career and at Corinthians I earn a lot. This club made efforts to keep me so I decided to turn it down and remain in Brazil and Corinthians, where I nevertheless have a significant salary. Money is not everything and I still want to win Timão.”
