Materazzi01

In an exclusive interview with fcinternews.it the great Inter idol Marco Materazzi talked about Inter’s current team, Erick Thohir’s arrival and his best memories together with the current honorary president of Inter Massimo Moratti and finished by paying tribute to the fans he loved so much over the years of victories in Inter’s colors. Below is the full interview with Inter’s number 23 who became champion of Europe and the world with Inter.

Materazzi, for starters, will you be present at the match against Sampdoria on Sunday and accept Thohir’s invitation?

“Yes, I think so.”

Will you greet Curva Nord before the game and strengthen the Inter supporters?

“I will greet my fans with great joy, but it will be the team that strengthens the Inter supporters with a great victory.”

Regarding Thohir, what do you think about Indonesian’s entry into the club?

“From what I have seen, it appears that his intent is to match everything the president Moratti has done.”

Massimo Moratti and Marco Materazzi: your memory of the president.

“I think he is unique for everything the Moratti family has done in general. What the president has done is unique, no one has succeeded with what he has done during Inter’s history.”

Looking at the progress of the team, how would you assess Inter’s performance in the league so far?

“The team is doing well, they have made mistakes in some games but the important thing is the mentality, even if there isn’t the same quality as in the past years.”

How do you assess the work that Walter Mazzarri does?

“The coach gets the best out of each player and that’s not easy. Getting everyone to give 110 percent is a difficult thing and he has always done that throughout his career. Inter, with him, has performed beyond expectations. It’s shown by the fact that the same Napoli, who in my opinion have the best team in the league, only have two points more than Inter.”

Finally, a greeting to the Inter fans. Marco Materazzi’s message to them.

“I can say that I miss my fans more than they miss me. Thank you all for the life you gave me.”
