Zeng Gang, the vice president of Suning Sports Media spoke at the Sina Financial Awards 2017 on the derby and the viewership in China, “The game was on at 02:45am in China, we had views similar to that of the Champions League final.”
Gang also discussed how Suning have went about acquiring television rights, “We thought about acquiring various rights because the PPTV brand had needed a strong redefinition, and we understand that sport, football in particular, is big among fans. We now have the rights of the five big European leagues.”
