Mauro Icardi stopped by InterTV to share his thoughts on tonight’s Serie A fixture at home at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in Milano’s San Siro district against Gian Piero Gasperini.

“Tonight we want to see the usual Inter, we want to continue doing well and we cannot depend on the results of other teams. If an opportunity presents itself then this means that we are the ones that have to do well.”

The Inter captain was also asked about his knee injury which kept him from representing Argentina during the international break to which he reassured all Inter fans that “the injury belongs to the past now. I have recovered well and I am ready.”

In conclusion Mauro Icardi was asked if the international break could provide an obstacle given that the team have only had 1 or 2 full training sessions with a full squad to which he said that: “we are professionals and we know what can hurt us, this is why we are very attentive and pay a lot of attention. We are ready even if we have only had one training session together.”
