According to Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, European heavyweights Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid have all switched their focus to Inter captain Mauro Icardi.

The Argentinian striker has improved a lot under Inter coach Luciano Spalletti, adding team work to his well known goalscoring ability. The European giants are aiming for his €110 million release clause and Inter directors Piero Ausilio and Walter Sabatini will start work on a renewal from mid January onwards.

According to the report there is no agreement regarding the new contract right now but since both parties have a very good relationship a quick negotiation is expected. It is no secret that the 24 year old striker loves Inter and has refused to answer any question regarding this particular subject. For now, Gazzetta reports further, that Inter are considering to make an offer where they will extend Icardi’s contract until the end of June 2023 where he would earn €7 million net per season.

Mauro Icardi is currently the leading scorer in the Serie A with 15 goals and has a contract with Inter until June 2021, where he is currently earning €4.5 million net annually.
